2013 Honda Crosstour

Honda's Crosstour might not have found a place with as many American families and empty nesters as Honda might have hoped, but it's at the very least one of the most adventurous vehicles the automaker has produced in recent years.

A couple of years ago Honda detached the Crosstour from the Honda Accord model line on which it's based; now for 2013 (as previewed by this concept) Honda has worked to further separate it--and, perhaps, make it more of a crossover, less of a hatchback/fastback passenger car. New contrasting door moldings, styled sill plates, and new wheels give it a somewhat more rugged look

Fundamentally, the packaging appears to carry over--although its interior appointments will be substantially different (and not shown at New York). Engines will considerably more fuel-efficient, and the V-6 model will get a new six-speed automatic.

Safety equipment gets a boost, too, with the introduction of a lane-departure system, forward collision warning, a rearview backup camera, and infotainment systems have been updated with USB and Bluetooth included in all models, plus an available Pandora radio interface, text-to-speech functions, and a new hard-drive nav system.

Let us know what you think. Do you like the Crosstour's slightly more 'butch' appearance?
